The UPSC’s Civil Service Examination first phase -the Prelims – was held today in more than 70 centres.
Lakhs of students took the test across the county and the first reaction from all was that questions on ‘sports’ caught them on a sticky wicket.
Most candidates were unprepared for ‘Sports’ questions and made the most of what they remembered from watching and reading about the Olympics and other major sporting events.
All said that Polity stuck to its tradition of conceptual questions and there was no change there. However a wide variety of questions on Science, History and Environment were also a bit of a surprise for most.
The Prelims is followed by the Mains to be held in a couple of months followed by the last leg which is the Personality Interview.
