![]() Photo: Nguyen Nhu ( Unsplash) By Yatharth Badala The tentative dates for MAH MBA CET have been out for a couple of weeks now, with it, the preparations have probably taken off too. The season for mock tests has commenced and with it, an eternal question that keeps candidates across all exams guessing. As a fellow aspirant, I’m aware that there is no definite answer to this question. It depends on one major variable – the level of difficulty. The most common answer that appears, if CET’s level of difficulty drops, the scores for 99.99%ile shall shoot up and if the difficulty rises the score goes down. Well, it is true to an extent. So, the best aspirants can do is lay down a particular range of scores for references based on the past data and track the progress by mapping scores against this data. *Score vs Percentile*
*The Score vs Percentile data has been taken directly from the CET Cell.* The data points help in interpreting that the level of difficulty for the given years has differed but only by a few points, with CET 2018 a tad tough than CET 2019 but easier than CET 2020. It is very significant to grasp the importance of every mark. But a vital conclusion withdrawn is that score that helped gain a 99.99%ile may not abruptly stoop to a 95%ile. The range for higher scores has been the same more or less with a plethora of candidates stuck in the lower score range.
